LA Dale

LA Dale lives in Perth, Australia, and has been a romantic women's writer or a women's romantic writer (whichever way it is) for 10 years.

Her debut novel is 'Heart of Glass'. Her  second, 'Perhaps... Perhaps'  is being published by Night Publishing in November 2010. She is currently working on edits to her third novel 'The Taming of the Bastard'. That should give you a sense of her trajectory - not quite as sweet as you might at first imagine.

Perhaps .... Perhaps

School teacher, Flora Owens thought she had the perfect life. Comfortable with being the least exciting, most organised and most predictable friend anyone could ever have, Flora was content until the morning she discovered her knickers had been stolen from the line again. She should have known it was an omen.

Now, the positive chi of her ordered world is in tatters. The Principal has broken his leg and been replaced by a man she thought she would never see again, a man she felt an instant and electric attraction to. The parents are complaining and her colleagues are behaving oddly. IN fact, she's so far in lust with her new boss she can't even think and it's doing very odd things to her behaviour as well. Things she would rather not contemplate.

Stalkers, saucy love affairs and a mild case of OCD.

What's a girl to do?

"I didn't know if I wanted to stab him to death with my stiletto or take him outside for a quickie."

The year is 1987. U2 is the most popular band in the world and Bella Stone - career girl and self confessed flirt - has just come face to face with the long lost love of her life. Bella's been through a lot in her 24 years and managed to survive it all. Now she's in a real dilemma. And his name is Ben.

Back in 1979, 15 year old Bella - uncool girl in the cool crowd - found herself thrust into the limelight when she became the girlfriend of footballer, Ben James. 'Universally ignored by boys until now', Bella had no coping mechanisms to deal with events that followed. Luckily, she possessed an inner strength and a sense of humour she never knew she had.

Now, Ben is back and by some nasty trick of fate, is sharing a flat with her best friend, Justin. The chemistry between them is a strong as ever. But Bella has grown up and moved on.

Is it too late?
